When you enter my office, you are entering a therapeutic relationship with me. Your confidentiality is priority number one. Anything communicated verbally or in writing within this relationship is guaranteed to remain private and protected. I find that it is in both our best interests to keep the relationship on a therapeutic level. If we happen to meet in public, I will only acknowledge you if you acknowledge me first; this is in order to protect your privacy, and is not at all meant to be disrespectful. Also, all personal client information is confidential and is kept in a secure filing system. A clients record is available for their review upon request. Note: I may be required to release a clients records to the clients physician with the client’s permission or under a court order.
Tipping is deeply appreciated, but not expected.
It is important that you feel comfortable at all times. If at any time you are uncomfortable, it is very important you share this information with me. Good communication enhances your session and nurtures a safe environment.
I respect the close nature of massage, and you can expect me to be clean and free of odor and strong cologne; please do the same for me. The table is cleaned and made up with fresh sheets for each session. I use oils and lotions free of strong scents. Please let me know in advance if you have any allergies to any oils or lotions.
In general alcohol, recreational drug use and over stimulation with caffeine and other products should be avoided and not done in a time period prior to the massage that would cause effects during the massage. A client under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs will not receive a massage for that session.
Notify me if you are taking pain medication while receiving Massage.
You will be required to fill out a Health History form before receiving treatment. Please keep me informed of any changes with each session.
Improper speech or conduct or any illicit or sexually suggestive remarks or advances made by the client will result in immediate termination of the session, and the client will be liable for the payment of the scheduled appointment.
I ask the courtesy of 24-hour notice of cancellation of appointments. My no-show/cancellation policy states that after a no- show/late cancellation you will be asked to pay a $35 appointment fee.
If you arrive late for an appointment, you will receive a massage for the remaining time of the appointment and will be charged for the full session. Please try not to be late. I will often have other sessions scheduled after yours. I ask that appointment times be rescheduled or canceled at least 24 hours in advance, so that I may have the opportunity to offer that time/session to someone else.
Referrals/Scope of Practice
In some cases, I may see that it would be best for you to consult another healthcare specialist before I perform a massage. Also, in some cases, after a massage, I may suggest that you seek consultation with another healthcare specialist. Should this situation arise, I will fully explain why I recommend any such consultation.
