Patients & Families

Gold heart apple_edited.png
Whether you are in active treatment, in recovery, or walking alongside someone you love — your body deserves skilled, knowing touch. Care that understands what you are moving through, and meets you exactly there.
You don't have to be okay to come here.

This work is for:

  • People in active cancer treatment — chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy, surgical recovery

  • Those navigating post-surgical lymphedema or lymphatic congestion

  • Cancer survivors rebuilding relationship with their body

  • Family members and caregivers who are exhausted and often forgotten in the process

  • Anyone facing a life-altering diagnosis who needs a place to land

You do not need to come with words. You only need to arrive.

— What We Offer —

Skilled Hands. Unhurried Presence.

Every session is shaped around where you are right now — physically, emotionally, in your treatment timeline. Nothing is assumed. Everything is asked.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

A gentle, specialized technique that supports the lymphatic system — often disrupted by surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy. MLD is clinically recognized for reducing lymphedema, relieving swelling, supporting immune function, and easing post-surgical recovery. Sessions are light-touch, deeply rhythmic, and profoundly settling to the nervous system.

Particularly supportive for: post-mastectomy, axillary node removal, abdominal surgeries, radiation fibrosis

Integrative Oncology Massage

Adapted massage therapy for people affected by cancer. Pressure, positioning, and technique are carefully calibrated to your current treatment, medications, and comfort. This is not a standard massage — it is precise, informed, and entirely in service of your safety and ease.

20 years of bodywork experience  ·  Oncology-specific training  ·  Trauma-informed approach

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy

A deeply gentle modality that works with the body's inherent healing rhythms through subtle, still touch. For those whose systems are overwhelmed — by treatment, by fear, by the enormity of what they are facing — craniosacral therapy offers a rare quality of rest that the body may not be able to find on its own.

No pressure. No manipulation. Simply a steady, attuned presence.

Supportive Somatic Sessions

For family members, caregivers, and those who need space to exhale. You are holding so much. These sessions are for your body, your nervous system, your grief — not just the person you are caring for.

— About Your Practitioner —

You will be in knowing hands.

I am Selina Borquez — Licensed Massage Therapist with twenty years of practice, Certified Tui Na Practitioner, and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist. My work is oncology-informed, trauma-aware, and rooted in the understanding that the body is not a problem to be fixed — it is a living system doing its best under extraordinary circumstances.

I trained in Manual Lymphatic Drainage through Klose Training, one of the most rigorous lymphedema therapy programs in the country, and have completed specialized mentorship in oncology bodywork.

My practice is culturally affirming, LGBTQIA+ welcoming, and BIPOC-centered.

The Wellness Collective, where I practice, is fully accessible.

— What to Expect —

Nothing will be done to you without your knowing.

Every session begins with a careful intake conversation — your diagnosis, your treatment history, your current medications, your comfort level. We move at your pace. You are never rushed, never pushed, never required to be more than you are in this moment.

Sessions are 90 minutes and take place at The Wellness Collective in Boulder. If your mobility is limited or you are in an acute phase of treatment, please reach out before booking — I want to make sure we create the right container for you.

— A Note on the Deeper Work —

The body is not the only thing that needs tending.

Cancer touches everything — your sense of self, your relationship to your body, your understanding of time, your connection to those who came before you. For those who feel called to explore the spiritual or ancestral dimensions of what they are moving through, I offer additional support through Alchemical Alignment and Ancestral Healing sessions.

This is not something that is offered in the first session, or the second. It emerges naturally, when the time is right and the relationship is established. But I name it here so you know — if you sense that the healing you need is larger than the physical, there is room for that here too.

— Frequently Asked Questions —

Questions you may be holding

  • Is massage safe during chemotherapy or radiation?

Yes — when performed by a trained oncology massage therapist who understands the specific adaptations required. I do not work with standard pressure during active treatment. Every session is calibrated to where you are in your treatment timeline.

  • Do I need a referral from my oncologist?

A referral is not required to book a session. I do encourage you to let your medical team know you are receiving bodywork — most oncologists and integrative medicine practitioners actively support it.

  • What is lymphedema, and can MLD help?

Lymphedema is swelling caused by lymphatic system disruption — common after cancer surgeries that involve lymph node removal, particularly in breast, gynecologic, melanoma, and head and neck cancers. Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a first-line treatment for lymphedema and can significantly reduce swelling, discomfort, and the risk of progression. Early intervention is key.

  • Can family members or caregivers book sessions?

Absolutely. Caregiver exhaustion is real and rarely addressed. Restorative bodywork is available to those supporting a loved one through cancer — you do not have to be the patient to deserve care.

  • What does a session cost?

60 min sessions are sessions are $150 and 90 minute sessions are $175. I also offer sliding scale on a limited basis for those navigating financial hardship alongside illness. Please reach out to discuss.

— Closing Invitation —

Your body has been through so much.

Let it be tended.
